Thank you Willow Glen / Palm Haven neighborhood dog walkers and everybody else who contributed to our Hope for Ukraine 2023 PayPal fundraiser via our July dog "Pawp"-Up! We raised around $550 which was primarily used for flea and tick treatments for our teams at the front. These meds / treatments are vitally important in keeping our four-legged fur missiles happy and healthy in the challenging conditions on the front lines in Ukraine.

Please join us for our July Dog Pawp-Up! Think of it as a pit-stop for dogs walking their humans. While your dog is enjoying some refreshing water and a treat or two you can check out information on the canine teams we have been supporting in Ukraine. We will have dog bandanas available for sale along with items from our Ukraine Game event. We will be taking donations as well. All donations and proceeds from sales will help us to continue supporting our canine teams and other animal causes in Ukraine.

In July of 2022 my neighbors held a fundraiser for Ukraine. The goal was a lofty 20k and they raised a whopping 11k. Having seen the effort they put in I wondered how I could help get us to 20k. So my roller hockey friends and teammates came up with Ukraine Game, two charity roller hockey games that raised just under 9k!

Having followed my efforts in Poland to help Polish volunteers and Ukrainian refugees in April 2022, my neighbors decided to raise money to send me back to help on the Poland / Ukraine boarder in Medyka*, Poland and to support organizations helping refugees both in Poland and Ukraine.
* The Free Place operation on the boarder ended at the request of Polish officials just before I was scheduled to return. I will now be returning to Poland and then travel on to Ukraine in mid to late July to volunteer at Front Line Kitchen and to meet with Olga so we can shop for Jaguar Dogs and other animal causes in Ukraine.

Total USD (approximately) donated and spent on food and supplies for refugees: $6,000
7 nights (approximately 84 hours) of volunteering with World Central Kitchen / Wolne Miejce (Free Place) on the Poland / Ukraine border in Medyka, Poland.
3 full sized duffel bags of goods brought from the US donated to refugee centers and organizations including iPads, first aid kits, military bags and body armor, clothing and stuffed animals.

Olya is helping to support and equip Ukrainian military / rescue dogs. She is raising funds to help provide tactical leashes and harnesses as well as body armor for these dogs that are essential to both soldiers and civilians in Ukraine. She continues to build a network of donors, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, fellow animal supporters and vets both inside Ukraine and abroad. Olya also works with Jaguar Dogs Canine Training Center who provide the skills needed to canine teams to perform their search and rescue, security and explosives detection duties.
